There are approximately 139,336 residents in Grayson County with 16,721 men, women and children living at or below the poverty level? The issue is that while Grayson County has many organizations that provide support services & programs to those in need, many of these organizations and services are not well connected, and the general public is not aware of the resources available to them. Heart of a Matter Ministries’ mission is to “bring meaningful change to humanity”.

We are doing this by
Working as advocates and mentors to connect people in our community to the existing support, services, and resources needed to meet their immediate and long-term needs while building circles of support.
Providing appropriate services, programs, & solutions to those seeking meaningful change and offering pathways to fulfill HIS purpose.
Uniting and activating the body of Christ; growing mission-specific outreach teams that are passionate about serving others, and working to unite existing resources and services to develop efficiency in how we serve those in need.
Developing and maintaining a unique community resource database website that allows other ministries and public services to give information on their services and programs, connect and work together and support each other; making the circle of support for those needing assistance much stronger and more efficient.

The Community Resource
This website is a tool that empowers anyone to find available resources and assistance for any need they may have, such as food assistance, mental health services, or medical and dental resources. We have worked hard to make this resource database available to the general public. Saving this website on your smart device allows you to be the Hands and feet of Jesus to someone in need.
Advocacy, Mentoring, & Counseling
We believe that a strong circle of support is important for living a meaningful and purpose-filled life. When an individual is surrounded by healthy relationships, equipped with proper tools and supported by loved ones, everyday hurdles become less challenging. Our compassionate and well-trained mentors, advocates and Christian counselors are cultivating mental wellness in our community.

Life Enrichment Program
For many, the difference between poverty and a meaningful and purpose-filled life is knowledge and training. We offer a range of Life Skills and Personal Development classes that enrich our community members. We desire to see others thrive!

The Creators Studio
The Creators Studio is a space using the simplicity of arts and crafts to bring creativity and beauty to the environment, community and to each other. Creative art expression can bring joy, health, and well-being as individuals work with their hands, mind, and spirit through a whole health life mission.
We give people the opportunity to try different activities that involve creative art expression, including:
- Beyond The Studio – Art Expression Workshops
- Let’s Create – Open Studio Classes
Hope & Restoration Program
Participants in this program are compassionately guided through past struggles. It is our desire to see all members of our community walking in freedom from harmful behaviors.
Classes include:
- Christ-Centered Adult Recovery Classes
- Walking in Grace – Life Rehabilitation
- Mental Health Support Group
Options – Youth Program
Many youth suffer day-to-day struggles which can lead to physical and emotional harm. Many have experienced family abuse, violence, rejection, trafficking, and instability that led to their circumstances. The OPTIONS Youth team works with marginalized youth to help them seek stability, restore hope and find purpose.

Family Services
Compassionately guiding families through an assessment of past struggles, review helpful options leading them to a future of living a meaningful and purpose-filled life. Participants are guided by a mentor to reach success through a series of structured Life Skills courses, GED assistance, TRADE skills, resume development, employment preparation, job searching assistance, budgeting, and more. We work in collaboration with Family Services to build up circles of support for the Foster children and families in our community.
The Ambassador’s Leadership Academy
The Ambassador’s Leadership Academy is a Leadership Development Program established to grow the gifts and talents planted within us all. Participants are encouraged to develop and flourish in the calling God has for them individually. The Ambassador’s Leadership Academy was founded on the desire to be servants of the Lord in raising leaders and world changers. The call to develop and grow God given purpose, using the gifts planted deep within each of us from the time of creation is how the Ambassador’s Leadership Academy was birthed.
